Thanks all,
I found a second (spare) sender and it read 22 fully up and 253 fully down. So I guess we are all about the same - give or take a bit.
I noted that the Earth lead to the sender was a loose fit so tightened that and I have also ordered a new Voltage Stabaliser as well, even though I ...

Fuel Sender readings
Hi all,
My fuel gauge is reading lower than I would expect. When tank is full (only after pay day!) it only reads about half on the gauge.
Can someone confirm if the sender readings are correct? with the sender on the bench connected to a meter I get 264 ohms all the way down(empty) and 31 ohms ...

According to the UK DVLA it is currently taxed until September 2020 so I guess it is still running in the UK.

Re: Snapped wheel stud...doh!!!
I just changed a snapped stud on my Spitfire (rear). but very similar to a Dolomite. I used a ball joint separator and some appropriate sized sockets to push out the old stud and then push in the new one. On the rears you will have to remove the brake shoes I suspect.
You can punch out the old but ...

Re: 25D4 distributor - Replacement
I have a few classics, Triumphs and Land Rovers mainly and I almost always fit Powerspark electronic distributors from "Simon BBC". Apart from one that was made wrong and so wouldn't work when initially fitted they have all been faultless and a good upgrade.

Re: Steering Shaft/Knuckle - Lower - FAM1718
Hi all,
Just an update.
After giving it a fair bit of thought I decided in the end to buy a used FAM1718 from Quiller. They have a few and I requested one with wire through the bolts so that I could refurb it in the future if the rubber bushes gave out.
The reason I opted for this is that the ...

Steering Shaft/Knuckle - Lower - FAM1718
Hi all,
I have lots of play in "Steering Shaft/Knuckle - Lower - FAM1718"
I have read old posts on forums that suggest it is hard to buy good quality replacements, in particular, there seems to be a lot of advice to avoid the modern "pressed UJ" replacements being offered by some suppliers.
Can ...

Re: 1974/5 Toledo. Green but which green?
Thanks all,
It definitely wasn't Emerald. It could have been British Racing Green I suppose.
I like the comment of Graham04. I do like Brooklands Green so I'll just keep thinking that's what it was and carry on pretending I have re found my youth again.
Thanks for your help.
