When the external door handles were loosened off, did the door handle gaskets drop out as they have a habit of disintegrating when disturbed.
If the door handles were then tightened back up without them on the back doors this would in effect lower the door handle rod to the lock slightly, it's ...

Re: door handle gaskets
the three locating tabs don't go the whole length of the lock
Two of the tabs where the clip holds it in position in the door do not as you say go the lenght of the body of the lock, the third central one does to prevent the lock from turning in the door, so you may still need a single tab cut ...

Re: door handle gaskets
The locks do use a gasket, but as stated by Mad Mart above they do not appear in the parts catalogue.

I wonder if Jaguar XJ6/XJ12 door handle gaskets apparently fit, would their lock gaskets fit as well?

Re: door handle gaskets
Interestingly I just checked the door handle gaskets I have (purchased from Rimmers some time ago) and the larger gasket is made from Rubber / Neoprene, whilst the smaller one is a thick card like material. The ones I recently removed from my doors were the latter material so I wonder if the larger ...

Chris Witor sells lengths of steel channel for the triumph 2000 range which I think is the same as the Dolomite range, probably worth a call to confirm if no luck elsewhere:

Re: 3 rail gear selector rebush kit - red washer placement
I have never used the red washers, my understanding is that there was an earlier version of the three rail gearbox that used them and they are not used on Toledo's / Dolomite's.

Re: Front inner wing/sill arrangements
What I can't work out it what the arrangements are from the point of the top of the inner and outer sill should be down over. As far as I can see the inner sill stops short of the outer and is closed off by the curved area of the bulkhead/footwell.
My only assumption is that the curved area of ...

Re: low in power, lean mixture? 1850HL
If the car has been run for some time with one of the carbs running much richer than the other, I would want to do a compression test on the engine to ensure the richer cylinders have not suffered from cylinder wash.
You say the top speed is now about 55mph, is this better or worse than before?

Re: low in power, lean mixture? 1850HL
Apart from the work already noted, A few queries come to mind:
Was any other work done to the Carbs or parts replaced that's not already been mentioned?
Did you internally clean them if so how?
Were the carbs worked on individually or at the same time, could parts have been mixed between them ...

Re: Sprint - 1850 O/D
Just wondering, but the adaptor on the single rail box to join the OD to it is about 20mm smaller than the 3 rail one,
Is it possible that the two output shafts shown here are labeled the wrong way around? Im no expert.

Both gearboxes I measured are in cars so 1mm parallax error is not bad!I have just measured the adaptor and it is 63mm.

Re: Sprint - 1850 O/D
Further to my post above I took the opportunity to measure both a three rail and single rail O/D gearboxes today to try and determine why there are different part numbers for the Sprint/1850 three rail and 1500 /1850 single rail gearboxes and came up with the following (all dimensions are approx ...

Re: Sprint - 1850 O/D
I'm in the middle of rebuilding an 1850 single rail gearbox and a Sprint O/d to fit it. I am reliably informed these are compatible.
I think you may need to check on the compatibility of a 1850 single rail gearbox and a Sprint O/D. The three rail 1850 O/D is compatible with a Sprint (Rimmers list ...
