Sprint SU Float Leak

I changed the needle valve on the rear float bowl because it was leaking quite a lot. The front one seemed to be fine but I also changed it at the same time. The needle valves are the newer design with a spring loaded pin. Now the front one has developed a small leak. I changed back to the old ...

Re: Electronic Ignition

JIan. There are quite a few posts on here about the 123 system but most of them are quite old. Since you are the most recent post could you share the process for fitting the 123.
Including: 1)do you need an adapter to fix the distributor to the engine block. If so where did you get one. 2) Does the ...

Re: Boot lid seal

It fits very nicely around the front and sides of the boot but the lip on the back edge faces in the wrong direction. The seal fits easily but the boot will not close. I tried moving the boot lid backwards but at the max extension it still wouldnt close and the gap between the lid and body was much ...

Re: Boot lid seal

I has just fitted a boot seal. I purchase the clip on style because removing the old glue from the boot lid was an experience I never wish to repeat

Re: Chrome trim

In the absence of something off the shelf I modified a 1/2” spanner to do the job.

Is there a special tool or technique for removing the chrome trim on the side of the car. Without kinking or marking it.

Quarter lights

Is there a way to adjust the tension/resistance on the quarter lights. Mine close at anything above 20 mph. It’s gets very hot here in Denver. The airflow from the quarter lights help a bit.

Reversing switch oil leak

I have an oil leak from the gearbox which seems to be coming from the reversing switch. I was surprised to see a leak so high up on the gearbox. Is this a normal place to see a leak. What type of seal does it take and are they available. Also are the switches available. I had a quick look on the ...

Head Light

This is a photo of the head light from the outside edge. You can see it has a small bulb as well as the main large bulb. The small bulb is not connected and there doesnt appear to be any wiring in the loom to connect to.

I am guessing that this is the wrong headlight. Probably from a model that ...

Re: Allrubber under-riders

Just happen to have mine off the car. Be careful bending them back, the rubber could split. You dont need to bend them all the way straight to remove the rubber.

Fuel Pump Pressure

I replaced the fuel pump on my Sprint with a Quinton Hazell replacement. The one I replaced had the shorter lever arm without the need for the spacer between the pump and the engine block. The new one has the longer arm and spacer. The new pump created a pressure of 10 psi. It caused the rear float ...

Front Bumper

I am in the process of fitting a new front bumper to my 1984 Sprint.

As you can see from the photos the new one has brackets on the back whereas the old new does not. This avoids the need for the holes in the bumper that take the chrome headed bolts.

The brackets on the new bumper do not align ...
