Re: KLJ895W tinkering...

Hello all,

I hope you're well.

Rest assured that despite radio silence on the thread, progress on the build has been continuing.

The first post to bring us up to date has some......braking news included *groan*

Re: KLJ895W tinkering...

Hello!

It has been a while, and various Dolomite things of different colours have been happening.

I have started driving EFR 894W on the road, with a visit to Capesthorne Hall and to Notcutts Wilmslow for the 2023 TDCIR.

Re: KLJ895W tinkering...

It has been a while since the last update or since i was able to visit the car owing to a bout of Covid, amongst other things.

there has been a fair amount of progress on the engine side of things, and probably enough for a post or two. i think i will leave that until its complete and ready to go ...

Re: Sprintparts #43 Rebuild/Restoration

it is interesting to see the way the seatbelts have been mounted, ive done the same in my car. one thing ive been worried about is if i'll be able to tighten them up enough considering how much length there is, do you have any problems?

It is the only correct way to fit these. Maximum of 10 ...

Re: Sprintparts #43 Rebuild/Restoration

For those interested the Dolomite is sitting on the back of a 1979 Holden HZ "2 Tonner". Holden made a factory "One Tonner" and there was a small number of vehicles converted as after market conversions (with Australian Design Rule approval) for 2 ton ...

Re: KLJ895W tinkering...

Hello All,

A small update for you today.

It has front and rear windows now!

If you're wondering, side and rear windows come from Plastics for Performance. The front window is a reproduction part sourced through the club.

Re: KLJ895W tinkering...

Hello All,

I hope you're all well and your years are going ok. Nearly christmas now eh?! *eye roll*

So, here we have a long awaited update, this one for the engine!

The head, block and rotating components were delivered to him in a relative state of disrepair. Largely complete but a bit unloved ...

Re: 1974 Spa 24 Hours - Butch Racing Dolomite Sprint (Group 1)

superb standard of work.

we also had to cut/sand the door capping to get around the roll cage, although we didnt have to go as far as cutting the door away.

looking forward to more updates!

(and hopefully seeing it at Goodwood?)
