Engine What is it worth

Hi, I have scrapped a spitfire MK 4 recently, I have the complete engine/gearbox minus carbs sitting in the front bit of chassis with suspension etc. I have just checked the engine number & it's a Toledo 1500 Export reconditioned unit DM603 ESS see the link http://www.triumphspitfire.com/enginen...

Re: 1975 1500TC - Bootlid, fitting chrome strip?

When you push the trim onto the lip on the boot the clips scratch the paint causing rust to appear from behind the trim. So what i do is to cover the lip & fill the inside of the trim with grease then fit the trim, If the clips remove the paint when fitting at least its covered with grease ?

Re: Advice on 2nd hand Panels

I would say the wing is repairable, yes it needs a porta power ram to push it out but it it would be easyer than fitting another wing. Do you need a centre bumper i have one here. ?

Re: Non-Dolomites

Carledo, I agree the cavalier mk111 is a brilliant car, far better than the one it replaced, I would get rid of the Xsara Picasso & keep a cavalier better made. My Fleet is - 1973 Triumph Toledo (every day use) 2007 Isuzu rodeo (every day use & towing trailers) 1974 Triumph Stag (been sleepi...

Welcome to this Triumph world. That looks like a good car, it looks to be light rust on there. I look forward to more updates. Alan

Re: respray

I resprayed my Toledo myself, I took all the trim off, If you leave the trim on you cannot rub the bodywork down close to the trims & you risk scraching the trims, then the new paint always flakes off near the trim, if you take them off you can then get new paint under them. When refitting after...
