Re: VALE Holden.

There do seem to be some rather intriguing economic strategies going on in the course of "making America great again". Constricting their markets and introducing trade tariffs appear to fly in the face of most other countries' plans. Of course we are not told which period in their history they ...

Re: OCF 405 R 40th Anniversary

Interesting. Sadly I don't have any paperwork for the car, as I handed it all over when I traded it in.
I have just thought that the garage I traded it into in Haddington also has a branch in Tranent, so it may have been retained by the garage. I will have to investigate further when I get a chance.

Re: Ongoing situation down-under

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Rob. It must be an awful situation to be in. I can't imagine what people are going through. I feel that I should be more grateful for our Scottish rain!

Re: OCF 405 R 40th Anniversary

Oh yes. My Triumph TR4A. I bought it in 1985, crashed it, restored it, rallied it and then sold it in 1992. It has been on the road and MOTed continuously since then. EGS150D.

Re: OCF 405 R 40th Anniversary

As a previous owner of OCF405R I have just checked and see that the last V5C was issued on 23 May 2019. Does that mean that is may have moved to a new owner?
I really hope we can locate the car again and give it a thorough check for filler/corrosion! I see from your other post that it has been ...

Re: Fire destroyed my clubs HQ (down-under)

Wow! I am really sorry to read about this. You must be heart-broken. These fires are really terrifying.
I am pleased to hear that your house has survived in tact.
I hope that you and your colleagues are able to piece much of the machinery back together and build a new building. It looked like it was ...

Re: New Garage

It looks like Ben is doing a very nice job. I wish I could have afforded to have brick and breeze block instead of timber, but I have gone for size instead!

Re: Settling in my new Dolomite

Hi Richard,
I have a Toledo, so basically the same. I only use it occasionally as the paint is rather old and porous, so I don't like it to get wet!!
I have kept it completely original. I run it on unleaded and I have had no problems with overheating or fuel vaporisation. Maybe if the car was to get ...

Re: Down-under Sprint for sale

Hello Folks,
The idea of selling Daisy just never settled well with either my wife or myself......so we've decided to keep her.
Additional to that, the idea of no longer visiting this fabulous forum also played a part in the decision.
My apologies.
All the best,
Rob

Re: New Garage

Exciting project. I am looking forward to seeing progress. It looks like the builders are doing a great job so far.
I built a garage last year, but ended up having a timber garage, as breeze block and slate roof was prohibitively expensive. I am not 100% happy with it, but I really shouldn't ...

Re: Wood & Pickett Dolomite...

I see a 2000 mile from new Toledo sold for £7500 on that same web site. Looks like it could be worth me having mine resprayed after all!
