In the end I had to grind off the welds and refix the front of the window frame section. My advice would be to try the doors ASAP before painting etc ...

Have you changed the rotor arm as these seem to have a habit of cracking which causes the a missfire. I had one fail in a simular way a couple of years ago on my Toledo.
This problem is due to a broken copper strip in the switch unit. I had the same problem on my Toledo and it was possible to solder the crack in the copper strip. If you remove the switch the copper strip is under the stalk if I remember correctly.

1300 Gearbox Mounting
Does anybody know the correct order of the washers on a Dolomite 1300 gearbox rear mounting. Does the very large washer live between the rubber mounting and the subframe ?
I have fitted a fibre glass wing to my Toledo and once it is painted you have to look very closely to see its not metal. I brought one from Smiths & Dekins (Worc) and the fit is OK.
Wheel Bearings
Having replaced both wheel bearings on my Toledo I agree with Dave. Don't try getting them off your self but find a garage / workshop with a hydraulic press. They need a lot of force to release.
Head Gasket
After fitting the Rimmers County head gasket to my toledo and reading this topic I have changed the head gasket to a Payen part (AK260) which is actually a Cooper gasket. The difference in quality between the two gaskets is very noticeable as is the fit. The price for the new gasket was only £11 ...

Do you know what make the head gasket was as I am in the process of changing mine and I have brought a gasket set from Rimmers, but the gaskets do not appear to be as good as quality as previous ones.
