twin calipers

Even Rolls Royce tried it on the early shadow. I always warped discs on mine. Later they got rid of that idea. Don't bother trying it!!!!!!!!!!

rear brakes

They are more than adequate even for a race car, it's the fronts that are the problem. Braking surface on the rears is huge.

Try servicing and adjusting them properly, they will work A1

tappet shims

No chance of falling out what so ever. I'm running massive shims, SD1 shims on my everyday car, no problems

wasting money

Don't waste it on different disc and pads, you need to do either sierra or sprint parts to get good braking.
A perfect condition standard set up is no where near good enough even for a standard car.

sierra mod

Its the only way to go. Princess calipers are too big to fit on bigger discs, plus really dear now. Sierra discs and calipers great, I've never had brake fade since fitting the sierra mod, even with standard brake pads and towing 3/4 ton unbraked

Oil pressure is fine, leave well alone, it's what it should be or there abouts.

oil pressure

you could try new bearings, it will increase pressure. What's the oil presuure, it's not too critical at tickover.
Does it do 40PSI at 3000RPM?

you could always cheat a bit and use something like tiger seal to stick it on. It wont fall off.

Guages

1, could be wire of gauge at the dash end, or could be sender unit. More than likely the sender unit.

2, Probably the switch that is behind the choke knob, probably just needs a clean with a spray of WD40, unless the wires have come off.

It was good enough on my Bentley Mk6 to fit SU's directly on the inlet manifold without rubber mounts, if it's good for Bentley it must be good for Triumph

I would'nt use anything else, the quality of condensers is so poor now. I use a pirannha one, it's fine. Runs much smoother too

oil coolers

None of my cars are driven like a nun, even the odd track day in the past too, just live too far from a track now. My everyday sprint regulary tows a heavy trailer even in this heat up some bloody big hills too.
